Hockey Betting Lines

12/27/2006 - Atlanta, GA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Jim Slater scored with just 8.1 seconds left in the game to lead the Atlanta Thrashers to a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning at Philips Arena.

With time winding down in the contest Bobby Holik flicked a shot on net that Slater redirected past Holmqvist. The play was reviewed to determine if Slater's stick was above the crossbar, but the goal was allowed to stand.

Slava Kozlov scored the other goal and Kari Lehtonen stopped 24 shots for the Thrashers, who have won their last four games.

Martin St. Louis scored the lone goal and Johan Holmqvist made ?? saves for the Lightning, who had a three-game winning streak stopped.

Tampa Bay scored the only goal of the first period when St. Louis picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone, skated into the Atlanta end on a breakaway and snapped a wrist shot between the pads of Lehtonen with 4:26 left in the period. The goal came while Tampa Bay was shorthanded.

Holmqvist only needed to make seven saves in the first stanza.

Atlanta tied the game in the middle frame when a wrist shot by Kozlov through a screen beat Holmqvist over his glove just 6:44 in.

Lehtonen turned aside all 11 Tampa Bay shots he faced in the middle period.
